We built the R50 for drivers who hitch up a different trailer every month. The camera is a sealed metal box with six neodymium magnets underneath: set it on the tailgate, the trailer frame or a camper's rear wall, and it stays put at highway speed. Inside sits a 9600mAh battery that runs a full day on one charge, and the 5W solar panel keeps it going on long trips. The 5-inch monitor goes on the windshield with a suction cup and plugs into the cigarette lighter. That is the whole install.
The R50 also answers the question we hear most: “Will a magnet really hold?” Six of them do, on any steel surface, and the rubber base keeps the paint free of scratches. Park, lift the camera off, drop it in the glovebox, and the next truck gets it tomorrow.

A DoHonest backup camera system is a rear camera and a monitor that talk to each other. The camera sits at the back of the vehicle; the monitor sits on your dash and shows the rear view the moment you need it. Our wireless backup cameras connect over a stable digital signal, so there is no video cable to run from the bumper to the cabin — the step that turns most installations into a weekend job. We designed every camera so a driver can do the setup alone, in a parking lot, without a single drilled hole.
The R50 sits on six magnets and charges from the sun, so installation means placing the camera and plugging the monitor into the lighter socket. The V29 is wired once to the reverse lights and then switches on with reverse gear. Either way you can easily check the image, adjust the viewing angle and set the guide lines in a few minutes. Each DoHonest backup camera system ships with every bracket and lead the installation needs, so you connect the rear camera once and the system is ready.
Our cameras are designed around the image. A 1080P sensor, a wide 150° to 170° angle and infrared lights keep the area behind the vehicle readable after dark. Brightness, contrast and image flip let you switch the picture to the way your camera is mounted, and the split-screen function on the 7-inch monitor keeps two cameras in view.
The DoHonest baby car camera uses the same idea for the rear-facing seat: a small camera on the headrest, a monitor on the dash, and a glance instead of a turn. It is safe, it is easy, and it keeps your eyes where they belong — on the road ahead.
If you tow different trailers, the magnetic solar R50 moves between them in seconds. If one trailer stays with one truck, the V29 with a second camera on the trailer gives you a split-screen view of both.
No. The R50 holds on magnets; the V29 camera mounts on the license plate bracket and uses the reverse-light wires.
Yes. Both baby car cameras switch to night vision automatically when the light drops.
